2035 (2022-23)

Score and recording

2035 for Alto Flute and Piano by Patrick van Deurzen. Commissioned for Rogier de Pijper (flute), Heather Pinkham (piano) and the foundation Flute Colors, with support from the Dutch Performing Arts Foundation. It is one of four new works commissioned by these players. Each new work has been inspired by a particular Dutch city; in the case of this work the city of inspiration is Rotterdam.

2035 was performed at the premiere along with the poem ‘Geefregels’ by Dutch poet, prose and playwright Anne Vegter. The poem was inspired by 2035 and together they form each other’s mirror image. See the video of the premiere below.
